Karim Bouch, Medical GP
Karim Bouch, our Chief Medical Officer, is a highly experienced general practitioner. He is available for consultations weekly Monday till Thursday.
He holds the Master degrees in both medicine and cytobiology.
His career started in the Slotervaart Hospital in Amsterdam, where he gathered significant experience in the fields of Internal Medicine, specially Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Pulmonology and Intensive Care. After working some time as GP in Spain, Karim Bouch joined Zorggroep Almere, where he built up wide experience in Geriatric medical care. Following three and a half years he worked as GP in practices in Almere and Amsterdam-West, to finally open Makroon Medical Center in early 2016.

Karim Bouch is a member of the National Association of General Practitioners in the Netherlands (LHV), submitted to the regional complaint regulations and is registered by the Board of General Practitioners with the Special Proficiency (CHBB) as an Ultrasound Professional and as a Recognized Quality Consultant (EKC). National Travel Advisory Coordination Center (LCR) has recognized Dr. Bouch as a proficient medical travel advisor.
Joke van Steenkiste, Medical GP
Alka Lal, Medical GP
Alka received her training as a radiologist in Mumbai, India. After a very dedicated and focused effort, she became a general practitioner in The Netherlands. She did both her medical and general practitioner studies at the VU University in Amsterdam. Her love for people and intrinsic nature to help is the inspiration for her profession. Because of her background, she knows how it feels to sit opposite a general practicioner as a foreigner. In addition to Dutch and English, she is fluent in Hindi.
Rachel Chou, Doctor
She first obtained her bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences at the University of Amsterdam after which she studied medicine at Leiden University. In the last year of her studies she mainly gained experience in the Emergency Room. She is now working as a primary care physician in the practice to gain experience for training as a family physician.

Mental Health Care Consultant
Rojen Helbest, Psychologist, Mental Health Care Consultant
Royen Helbest is a psychologist and works in our practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as a supporting specialist for mental care. Under the GP’s supervision, she gives the support and counseling, provides short treatments and, if needed, redirects patients with psychic, psychosomatic and psychosocial problems to further specialists treatments. She works also in Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis hospital in Amsterdam as the coordinator and researcher at the geriatric department.
Royen studied clinical psychology at the University of Amsterdam and worked as a psychologist and nurse specialist for mental care. Her field of interest are sleeping disorders and has an extended experience in treatments of insomnia and nightmares disorders.
Doctor's Assistants
Hayat Chahtit, Supervisor Doctor's Assistant
Hayat Chahtit works in our practice as Supervisor Doctor's Assistant. She is present from Monday to Thursday. As your first contact with our practice, either during your visit or contacting us by phone, she can provide all necessary information you need. Next to her administrative task, her operational duties include taking and collecting of blood samples, ears cleansing and blood pressure measurements. Hayat is also a qualified assistant medical travel advisor.
Mayssae el Faghloumi, Chronic Illnesses Nurse Specialist & Doctor's Assistant
Mayssae el Faghloumi works in our practice as Doctor's Assistant. She is present on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays. As your first contact with our practice, either during your visit or contacting us by phone, she can provide all necessary information you need. Next to her administrative task, her operational duties include taking and collecting of blood samples, ears cleansing and blood pressure measurements. She is a qualified assistant medical travel advisor and in training to become general practice-based nurse specialist. In the latter capacity she will be able to support patients with chronic illnesses.
